A Naked Revelation

My entire life — at least as far back as I can remember, obviously — I have pronounced the word “naked” as “NEKkid.”
Turns out it’s supposed to be pronounced “NAYkid.”
It feels very peculiar to pronounce it that way, though I will try to be conscious of how I’m pronouncing the word in the future.
